My very first poinsettia

I am not convinced on the spelling Poinsettia but anyways !!! As a kid my mom ALWAYS had at least one in the house at ALL Christmas. I thought they were ugly...lol Guess your taste changes over the yrs because I got one this year and it is soo pretty , the leaves are so soft. Lovely bright red in colour and it looks so full. I just love it.
I am hoping to get one more this season !! The white ones don't look as beautiful as the red.

Over the Weekend.....

This past weekend was nice and relaxing. We hung up some more lights on the outside of the house, finish off the part that had none and changed the fence lights from blue to multi coloured. We also decorated the mantel and hung our stockings. Other then that just relaxed and thought about Christmas. This coming weekend, we'll do a bit of shopping. We have to buy 2 gifts worth about 15 bucks each to take to Paul's work Christmas dinner. Any ideas??? basically they need to be gender neutral because who knows who will end up with them but then again who cares cause if a guy got a girly thing well then he can re gift it..LOL We go to the same place every year, pretty quiet dinner and a gift game and that is about it.

We are waiting for a few more weekends before the tree goes up. Rather not have to worry about little fingers just yet.

Christmas Lights AGAIN..!!!!

Halloween 2008

I never realized how far I had let my blog go. Sheesh I didn't even blog about Halloween. I usually am right on top of things....Anyways i guess better then never i suppose. anyways on to Halloween. Not only am i late but i am doing the posts backwards..lol I'll just say I am doing that part on purpose.hehehehe

I went with Joshua and the rest of his K class to the pumpkin patch on Halloween. It was sprinkling rain off and on all day. We knew it would be wet and we were as prepared as we could be. As soon as we arrived at the patch and was getting off the bus and on to the hay wagon its started to pour. I was drenched in seconds. I am so glad Joshua was wearing his splash pants and rain coat. Nothing worse then a whinny kid when they are uncomfortable and there is nothing you can do for them at the moment.

So we collected our pumpkins and quickly headed back into the barn to look at the animals and have hot chocolate and a story read to us. Then back onto the bus and back to school.

Later that day after getting all dry, we dressed up the kids and Dad took the out tricker treating around our neighbourhood. While they were out, I had 5 kids come to our house. THAT'S IT !!! I know I was quite surprised. Dad and the kids came back a couple hours later with a big bag of candy, plus what i had bought to give away. They are set for along time now..LOL

My 37th Birthday

Oops I totally forgot to blog out it. Thursday November 13 was my 37th Birthday. It was the year that I had to renew my license, however without thinking about it after she took my license I have no picture ID. One of those things that just slipped my mind as well as the lady at the office. Came home and was talking to Paul about it and then I realized what had just happened, I couldn't vote. I always vote, its' just something I do, but i also quickly realized there was nothing I could do about it as it was Friday night and election day was Saturday.

anyways, back to celebrating. We ordered Chinese food and had black forest cake with family. It was a wonderful day !!!

Christmas Lights

Well today we spent the day outside hanging Christmas Lights on our new house. As most of you know this is our first Christmas in the house. It will be a couple more weeks before the inside of the house gets decorated. Longer its in the boxes and less time I have to say Don't Touch the tree !

Not the best picture but hopefully you get the idea. We have candy canes running down the side of the driveway.
