We are extremely busy these days. The thought of it it getting worse as the 2 boys get older and into things is exhausting. Between baseball, subbing down paper routes, and not to mention all the work we have been doing in the front yard and the daily housework. Last weekend I pruned down the yellow bush in preparation to pull it right out of the ground. Didn't realize that I would be in such pain after that. My left wrist has been sore for a few days.
I have also picked up selling Avon along with Tupperware. It'd only been a few days and I already have started getting a customer base. It will take some time but I figure get the books out and see what happens. Never hurts to try. I will always have my paper routes to fall back on..LOL After ball season we might take on a few more routes. Good money in subbing ...

Smurfs....
When I was growing up from the age of oh I'd have to say 6 or so I was totally into the smurfs. My brother in law called me Smurf for years. Every time I had surgery I was given a smurf stuffy. I remember taking one into the OR room and the doctor had actually given the stuffy a stitch in his nose..lol I had a couple albums as well. I don't have anything left anymore. Grew up and gave it all away...
Recently I have decided that I am going to start collecting them again.

Gardening
I have started working on the front yard this week. It has been neglected so there is some weeding to do and pruning of trees. I am still battling with weeds. Unfortunately the garden is under a big cedar tree that sheds. I have been raking and raking but seems that there is no end to it. I was telling Paul last night that we should just clean it up as best we can and then plant grass.Who knows what we will end up doing in there. Everytime I go out and work in it I come up with other ideas. I guess we could just clean it right up and keep on top of it. Twice a year of raking should do it. We have a few dead cedar hedges that need to be pulled.
Our front yard resembles park like setting, its quite nice how the previous owners did it up. We have been tossing ideas around how to make a 3rd parking spot. Now that I have been working in the yard I would hate to see either side become a parking spot.
I would love to get rid of that yellow bush at the end of our driveway and plant a Japanese Cherry tree somewhere on the property.

Mikayla's 11th Birthday party...
Today is her actual birthday, we celebrated it on Sunday with family and friends. The weather wasn't too bad however it wasn't as nice as Saturday. Mikayla had a great time. She got spoiled with gifts as usual. We had a mix up with her birthday cake though. I had ordered one 1 week ago and when I called to see if it could be ready a bit earlier then first planned, the baker told me there was no such order. I was like okay thank you and hung up. At that point I couldn't waste anytime arguing with the guy I had to bake a cake. I headed off to Safeway and picked up a few things and came home and quickly got the cake in the oven. Rather then a bratz Cake she ended up with a plain chocolate cake. She loved it anyways.
Wasn't until Monday that I called back and spoke to the manager and we now have a credit. What really pissed me off the most is the cake was sitting in the cooler all the time. The guy I spoke to was too lazy to go look.
We all had bbq burgers and salad and a great visit. It was a great day....

En suite
We finally decided to get a cabinet to go above the toilet and a medicine cabinet for above the sink in our en suite. Just made sense. All other options either meant a lot of work and money or in the end of planning not enough room in the en suite.
It will do for now until we decide what we really want to do with the bathroom.

Recycling
The other day I went grocery shopping and decided to have my groceries bag using cloth isntead of plastic. WOW!! What a great decision that was. They are great. Remember back in the day of paper bags?? Well they work just as great except better they have handles. They sit nice and straight up in the cart, in the back of the van and more fits into them. I find them very easy to carry and no fear of the bag breaking 1/2 way up the stairs. Most importantly using these cloth bags are helping to preserve the environment. I will never go back to plastic.
When we moved here we also started a compost in the backyard. Works good so far, sure cuts down the garbage. The only thing I am not willing to do is switch to cloth diapers..lol I think I will leave that task to someone else, to someone who is just starting to have kids. The investment would make sense. We also collect our dead batteries and take them into Future Shop. Old paint and cans get dropped off at the recycling depot out here along with any old electronics including computer monitors. Recycling has sure come along way. Hopefully not too late.

TV IS BACK FOR US!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy that our shows that we had watched are starting up again. The strike was long enough but sheesh having to wait AGAIN for shows to be written and done seemed to be really long too. One more week to go and Desperate Housewives will be back on the air with a new episode. Sunday April 13/2008. Grey's Anatomy should be the following week.
We noticed that in the Canadian Tire flyer the vanity set that I posted about yesterday is on sale....How weird is THAT!!! Only difference is that it doesn't come with the mirror, oh well don't want that anyways. Hubby wants a medicine cabinet..lol

Vanity set....

I found this set while surfing home depot website. Here is something that caught my eye, good price.... What do you think of this?? Too fancy maybe...... The brass might make it look too fancy....I wouldn't go with that...

Bathroom
I am having a hard time deciding what to do in our ensuite bathroom.Excuse the mess It's a full bathroom with tub and shower. The sink is the pedestal type which is the style these days however we have no place to put anything. Been looking at over the toilet storage as well as cabinet on the wall above the toilet,OR Paul's suggestion medicine cabinet above the sink..lol How manish though hey !!!.....Any ideas out there?????
